Oxygen Generator
Medical Oxygen generators, also known as oxygen concentrators, are devices that provide a high concentration of oxygen to supplemental oxygen therapy patients. Oxygen generators concentrate the oxygen available in the environment by using a filtration system that separates oxygen and nitrogen components.
Oxygen generators can be portable or stationary and vary in size. Small models can be can be powered by either plugging into a wall outlet, DC outlet in your car, or for hours at a time with rechargeable batteries.
Portable oxygen generators and the Inogen One
The Inogen One oxygen concentrator was specifically designed as a single-source oxygen system at home, away, and for travel. It is Medicare coded for use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This medical oxygen generator can be used as an oxygen concentrator for the home or away from home, as a portable unit. The FAA has approved the Inogen One portable oxygen generator for use on commercial airlines, although it is necessary to check in advance with the airline for specific requirements.
The Inogen One is clinically proven to provide the necessary oxygen for most ambulatory patients during all phases of daily activity and during sleep. Studies have demonstrated that when appropriately titrated, the Inogen One home oxygen concentrator is essentially clinically equivalent to continuous flow oxygen and also suggested that daytime pulse dose titrations may be effective in determining nocturnal oxygenations. 1
Inogen will work directly with your doctor, Medicare and your insurance company to make sure that the Inogen One oxygen concentrator is right for you.
